We are entering our 71st year of serving the Newfound Region. Some would say that we are the heart of our community and we would hope that this is true. But at the heart of what we do are the hundreds of volunteers that give of their time and energy to make our programs successful. The youth and families that we serve are fortunate to have those that choose to give of themselves to make a difference. The list of programs and fundraisers that the TTCC offers throughout the year is endless and we are so thankful to live in such an amazing community where we can work with great people to provide the many programs and events that we do.
That being said we could not do any of this without the support of our very generous donors and our support from the surrounding towns. These donations have a direct impact on the youth of our community. With the help of our donors we are able to offer a daily after school program that provides a caring and active environment in which youth can thrive. They allow us to give every child the opportunity to play a multitude of sports programs throughout the year. It doesn’t matter what their skill level—everyone gets to play!
With this help in 2016 we provided programs for 890 individual youth and over $21,000 in scholarships for families in need. They allow us to offer 9 weeks of summer day camps with outdoor education, swimming at Wellington State Park, field trips to places like Mt Washington, an overnight on the USS Massachusetts in Battleship Cove and Zip Lining at Gunstock. The youth are challenged, supported and valued in all of their experiences.
This support assists in teaching our children the value of volunteerism by giving them opportunities to make a difference in their community. Recently we have established an active Teen Council that oversees activities for younger children, provides service to community organizations and raises funds to help with special projects. They are a dynamic, highly motivated group that now manage our teen dances, work events, sponsor teams & mentor youth.
These donations guarantee that we can continue our long tradition of supporting the youth in the Newfound Region and providing them with caring adults that will guide them as they travel the path to adulthood.
We promise you that your support will make a difference to the youth and families in our Newfound Region.
Thank you for believing in us. We are grateful for you!
